He has the distinction of being runner up in the World Public Speaking Competition, Ireland 1995/96, from a field of over 250 entrants from top law schools and universities from Europe, USA, Australia, Canada, Asia and the Caribbean. He is an occasional Broadcaster, and a Public commentator.

Clyde has a varied and in depth experience as a barrister at both the Criminal and Civil Bars. In his formative years, he successfully represented a wide cross section of defendants at the Criminal Bar.
